GUINNESS RECORD – LARGEST ARTWORK MADE FROM USED BATTERIES

TARTU, ESTONIA

-

2017

The largest battery mosaic is 25.25 m² (271 ft² 113 in²) and was created by the Sculpture Department of Pallas University of Applied Sciences (Professor Anne Rudanovski and her first-year sculpture students - Andreas Tukmann, Karin Kivisild, Olger Lehtsaar, Maarit Mälgi, Elise Rohtaas, Matthias Tiidelepp and Richard Lätt and colleague Rasmus Eist), Euronics and Royal Experience on 2 February 2017.

This record was created in collaboration with the creative director of Royal Experience, Lehari Kaustel.

The mosaic was used to launch the Euronics store extension and over 10 art students helped put together the display. All batteries were used and taken from Euronics own recycling banks which they collect in stores. It was a project that kept in mind that old batteries need care. Take them to a recycling center or supermarket collection point.
